The party roll kit is back! What's a party roll, you may ask? It's a fun, rollable micro weave that gives new life to what would otherwise be textile waste. A funky, texture laden “party" of a tapestry, this lil’ bite sized mini fits anywhere and makes a unique gift or perfect addition to a column, entryway, office or gallery wall.
In keeping with the sustainability theme, these kits include a curated array of over 7oz of secondhand fibers from destash sales and my personal collection, available in six different color ways. Additionally, each fiber pack includes either a coordinating hand spun art yarn from Annie-France Bowker of Wovvven or a hand spun scrap yarn from Ashley Thurman of Loom Denim.
The collapsible loom was created in partnership by Meg Spitzer and woodworking artists, Martin Hernandez and Lionell Guzman, tailored specifically for party roll weaving. The lap bar (should you choose to weave seated while leaning it against a table for example) is 12" wide, and the length after assembly is approximately 24" long. This loom was designed with strength, adaptability, and longevity in mind, with the intention of being used repeatedly to weave scraps into beautiful mini tapestries for years to come.
